I’ve seen the self cleaning feature in my dog’s combs but had not tried these for myself. I’m so happy with how easy it is to get hair out of this and can clean it after each use. From my experience using self-cleaning combs on my dog, there are some bad-quality ones where the teeth fall out or gets damaged by the self-cleaning mechanism. This comb has none of these problems and is able to retract and extend smoothly. The sebum and any flint, dirt or dust does get from my hair to the comb, and those can’t be self-cleaned, so this will still require some cleaning with a toothbrush once in a while.
